FRIDAY 10TH JULY

KAISER CHIEFS / PROFESSOR GREEN / ELLA EYRE

SATURDAY 11TH JULY

THE ROYAL PHILHARMONIC CONCERT ORCHESTRA FEATURING STAR OF ‘THE VOICE’ LUCY O’BYRNE

Facebook / Twitter / #SoundsintheGrounds

Sounds in the Grounds is a brand new event for the Midlands’ music calendar, to be hosted in the spectacular grounds of Warwick Castle. An exciting addition to a vibrant summer of events, this two-day extravaganza will see an incredible line-up of artists resonating with both the crowd and the historic setting this coming 10th and 11th July.

Executive Producer, Eric Allen says “We’re really excited to be working in such an iconic British landmark, with fantastic talent”.

Expect the limitless vivacity of Kaiser Chiefs to wow the masses as they headline on Friday 10th July. Following the success of No.1 album, the British society satire “Education, Education, Education & War”, Kaiser Chiefs are currently working on their sixth studio album from which “Falling Awake” is the first single to premier. Proven crowd pleasers, whose catalogue is brimming with sing-along anthems, there couldn’t be more fitting headliners for the event’s inaugural outing.

Read All About It! Chart-topping rapper, singer & songwriter, Professor Green will be gracing the stage at Sounds in the Grounds. Following the top five chart success of his third album Growing up in Public, you can expect an electric performance that will get feet tapping well into the night. Just be good to Green.

Also joining the bill is cool chanteuse Ella Eyre, who is quickly proving to be 2015’s rising superstar, having smashed the live circuit throughout the UK, Europe, Asia and Australia. A live dynamo, Ella’s enthralling live performances never fail to captivate. Her new single, ‘Together’, out this May, promises to bring as much acclaim as mega No.1 smash, ‘Changing’, the single she co-wrote with Sigma that brought her to widespread attention.

Saturday’s show will be an altogether different prospect dominated by classical fare featuring The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. The classical show will have the audience waving their union flags at the Castle with The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra taking to the stage to perform a selection of classical favourites, including Hornpipe, Rule Britannia!, Pomp and Circumstance March No.1 (Land of Hope and Glory) and Nimrod. The evening will come to a grand crescendo with a fantastic firework display lighting up the dusky sky.

Following their current stint at the Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will be unmissable at Sounds in the Grounds. Conducted by impeccable music sculptor and West End legend David Firman, teamed with the idyllic historical setting of Warwick Castle, there will be no better location to experience this iconic performance.

For her first ever festival appearance, Dubliner Lucy O’Byrne will be joining The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. Her performance on the The Voice UK astounded the audience and won her the mentorship of will.i.am & Rita Ora. Eventually securing the show’s runner up spot for this year. Lucy has a bright future head of her.

Defining breath-taking flamboyance on an epic scale, we’re tickled pink to announce that our audaciously tongue-in-cheek adventure-land, The Grand Palace of Entertainment, will be gracing Bestival’s Summer of Love with more than just a splash of bawdy bacchanalia. A hive of fun and brilliance, if you seek the astonishing or unexpected this September 10-13 at Robin Hill Country Park, then look no further than the Grand Palace.

Summer lover Rob da Bank says: “Where else can you find Rave Knitting sitting alongside the outrageous camp overload of Sink the Pink and Scottee? I’m not sure, but what I do know is The Grand Palace is one of the funnest and funniest places you’ll find at Bestival – non-stop cabaret, outrageous camp, and one of the most flamboyant arenas at any festival. Don’t be shy – dive in!”

We’re delighted to announce that Films in the Forest, Bestival’s late night cinema affair, returns to the Amphitheatre, welcoming with open arms and a warm celluloid hug those wandering souls who stumble across their cinematic wares deep in the Ambient Forest. Celebrating ‘Bestival’s Summer of Love’, programmers from Jersey’s Branchage Film Festival and London Short Film Festival have artfully selected nightly double bills under the banner of ‘Peace, Love & Harmonies’.

Upping the motion picture magic through the weekend, London Short Film Festival-selected short films will play each night in between the main features, and we’ll also have live pre-screening music from Brightonian folk troubadour Ben Parker, as well as plenty of cinema snacks and a bar for good measure!

Rob da Bank says: “Even though we’ve been doing it for years, I’m still totally amazed by how fantastic it is to wander into the Ambient Forest and chance upon a brilliant little cinema showing loads of ace films. This year our Films in the Forest crew have done us proud, showcasing our Summer of Love theme in all its splendour, especially with the inspirational Woodstock, and the scintillating Searching for Sugarman. So throw on your finest fancy dress and get down with us at the pictures”.

BOOM! And we’re back with Bestival’s epicentre of rave behaviour, The Port. A mind-blowing nautical vision firing the big cannons, our landlocked labour of love is where the dancing party’s at. From amazing pyromaniacs and breath-taking aerial performances, to a staggering DJ line-up that will keep you reaching for those brain-melting lasers all weekend long, it is an unmissable destination that will be an essential part of the full-on Bestival experience this September 10-13 at Robin Hill on the glorious Isle of Wight.

Our own king of the ones & twos Rob da Bank says: “The Port is one of our finest achievements at Bestival, with some pretty stiff competition from all the other inventive constructions that have gone down over the last 12 years. A massive ship seemingly anchored into the grass at Robin Hill complete with smoking funnels, rusty portholes and all topped off with a crazy crew of nautical nutters dancing day and night in laser beam ecstasy.

“I cannot wait to see what Skrillex will pull out the bag for a Sunday finale. Sonny hasn’t been to Bestival for four years so a lot has changed for all of us, and I think The Port is gonna be very special that night. Especially because, as anyone who’s seen Mark Ronson DJ knows, they’re in for a massive treat, too – a sublime Sunday night double-header, even if I do say so myself. I love Annie Mac’s back to back extravaganza – great concept and some amazing talent, and our Friday techno and disco explosion will kick it all off nicely. All aboard for another insane party at The Port!”

Camp Bestival 2015’s music line-up is already bursting with brilliance, and we’ve got so many truly amazing theatre performances and shows, we could easily keep you and yours hugely entertained all weekend long. But this year, our festi-holiday exploits are all about reconnecting to Mother Earth, about going wild in the very best of ways, and with that in mind, we have a whole world of incredible activities that will get you and the kids loving nature like never before. So come and join us at Lulworth Castle this July 30 – Aug 2 and get closer to the living world.

Very wild man Rob da Bank says: “Going wild and getting back to nature is something that we’re all really passionate about. With loads of technology and modern distractions it’s easy to forget just how incredible wildlife is, but seeing the reaction to the small amount of wild activities we put on last year made us realise that going wild really is the best way to go. So this year we’ve got tons of ace stuff like the National Trust 50 things meadow, a whole world of crazy goings on in the Dingly Dell, Lizzie’s Way, giant tree climbing, den building and even loads of exploring outside of the grounds of Lulworth Castle. Not forgetting the headliners and my kids’ idols Steve Backshall and Michaela Strachan – wild heroes in the flesh! So there’s no excuses not to go wild with us this summer. See you in the undergrowth!”
