Camp Bestival

Dot To Dot 2011 is shaping up to be the tri-city festival’s finest outing yet with a wealth of new talent joining the bill. With a heavyweight line-up including Hurts, We Are Scientists, The Naked And Famous, The Joy Formidable, Ed Sheeran and many more already confirmed to travel between Bristol, Nottingham and Manchester from May 28th – 30th, the latest names joining the bill are some of the hottest new acts around.

Dot To Dot Organiser Anton Lockwood said: “This is what Dot To Dot is all about! The exciting new bands who are announced today add to a strong line-up of established acts (and the odd new one we’ve sneaked out already).  In previous years people like Mumford & Sons, The xx, Klaxons, Temper Trap and Foals have all played breakthrough sets at Dot To Dot. Who’ll be your pick from this year’s crop of talent?”

Volvo Snowbombing: Day 1

Following the ceremonial arrival of the Volvo Road Trip in to town on Sunday afternoon, Volvo Snowbombing kicked in to full gear last night as thousands of ‘bombers’ descended on the sleepy town of Mayrhofen for 5 days and nights of piste by day and beats by night.

Volvo Road Trip
Drenched in beautiful sunshine, the Volvo Road Trip rolled into town to an umpa band fanfare and hundreds of frantically waving flags. As well as the UK Road Trip, this year also saw starting points for the first time in Amsterdam and Frankfurt with celebrities from across Europe joining Example, Professor Green, MistaJam, The Cuban Brothers and more on the journey to Mayrhofen.

They’ve set the bar high…
The evenings line-up saw the valley rocked by a base heavy assault that looks like it will set the tone for the week ahead. Dons of Dub Step Skream and Benga kicked it in to touch as they packed out the Racket Club to capacity ahead of a sensational live offering from Pendulum. Elsewhere in town Carl Craig christened the system at the Bruck’n Stadl, a new venue for 2011 which if the upcoming line-up is anything to go by we’ll be seeing and hearing a lot of over the next week.
