In what is undoubtedly our finest year to date, which will include sets from The Cure, Pendulum, Primal Scream, PJ Harvey, Brian Wilson and DJ Shadow amongst a huge and ever-growing line-up of musical treats, Bestival 2011 hurtles headlong into the future, adding a whole new dimension to our televisual shenanigans, breaking new ground for festival entertainment with a super-generous seven and a half hours of Bestival 3D TV on Sky this coming September.

Rob da Bank said: “It’s amazing to be part of the world’s first 3D TV festival extravaganza on Sky. Bestival in 3D will be a mind-blowing explosion of colour and multi-dimensional music and mayhem and it’s great to be working with Whizz Kid again to bring it to life.

“Having Camp Bestival too as part of the Sky festival season means we’ve got a great summer of TV ahead.”

This year we’ll be beaming all the best bits of music and mayhem from Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight directly into your front room, all in very modern 3D on Sky. Teaming up with the legendary Malcolm Gerrie’s Whizz Kid Entertainment Bestival will broadcast two hours of LIVE 3D TV each day from Friday 9th through to Sunday 11th September, so you’ll be able to experience Bestival’s unique magic in 3D form – amazing! There will also be a super-sized 90-minute Bestival Special on Sky One following the festival season’s closing spectacular, so everyone who was there can relive their glories and catch up with the bits that they’ve missed.

Taking a flavour of 14 stages of live music and capturing the crazy Bestivalites Rock Stars, Popstars & Divas fancy dress frolics, as well as all the eye-popping sights and sounds of our party paradise, the Bestival 2011 TV spectaculars will be pushing the boundaries of weekend entertainment!

Rock Stars, Pop Stars and Divas

The past month has seen a host of rock stars, pop stars and divas added to the 2011 Bestival bill, and it is exactly those people who fit that mould who we will be celebrating with our fancy dress theme this year on the Isle of Wight.

So when it comes to the UK’s Best Festival between September 8 and 11 expect spandex cat suits, face paint, Union Jack dresses, flowing hair and glammed up girls in suits of meat being carried across the field on the back of a massive floating lily pad – well perhaps not the latter but you get the idea.

Tickets are now on sale for the magical festival and can be bought here, and click the link below to listen to our Spotify playlist of everything Rock Star, Pop Star and Diva as selected by the Get Involved office (read more for Tracklist)

Merry Christmas!!

With the chocolates in the Get Involved advent calendar down to single figures, and our latest Spotify playlist featuring everyone from The Pogues and Frank Sinatra to East 17 being rinsed, the seasonal vibe is thriving amongst the GI Crew.

With sleigh bells ringing and mulled wine warming, our Christmas Party was a great way to wrap up the year- and actor/comedian extraordinaire Mat Horne from Gavin and Stacey even turned up to be our festive quiz master.

This year has been another fantastic year, particularly at the UK Festival Awards. Our very own Bestival took home the top prize of Best Major Festival while Camp Bestival won Best Family Festival – woo hoo! Equally, a big well done to our clients, RockNess and Snowbombing, who took home Best Line Up and Best European Festival respectively – well deserved wins!!

Also in the past month, we have launched the Shockwaves NME Awards Shows and Tours featuring the likes of Crystal Castles and Magnetic Man through to Carl Barat, Warpaint and Caribou, as well as the line-up for Bestival 2011 which we are ecstatic to announce will be headlined by none-other than The Cure. Joining them will be Brian Wilson, Primal Scream presents Screamadelica Live and Magnetic Man amongst some other belters, and plenty more to be announced very soon.

We have worked with some amazing people this year – that’s you folks! – and we would like to say a massive THANKS to you all. We couldn’t have done it without you so thanks for all the support.

So just before we head off for some festive cheer, we would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. A gleeful Rob da Bank said: ‘I’ve spent the last twenty years of my life listening to The Cure and the last five attempting to persuade Robert Smith and the crew to hop on a ferry to our magical Isle. I’m still not sure what we’ve done right but I’m overjoyed that they are coming as Saturday night headliners. Few bands have had such a massive impact on my life (and hairstyles) so I’ll see you down the front!’
