Scottish Hydro launch the Start Eco Zone

Scottish Hydro and Fresh Start have come together to run a ‘present recycling’ scheme through January at the Start Eco Zone, to make use of any unwanted Christmas gifts.

Based in Edinburgh’s St James Centre the Eco-Zone is also being run in collaboration with Scottish Business in the Community, while Fresh Start is part of The Prince’s Charitable Foundation and is an initiative to present an inspiring picture of a sustainable future and showing how we can all make positive changes right now.

Scottish Hydro, part of SSE who are continuing their successful brand activity with Get Involved after last year at Bestival, Wakestock and RockNess amongst other things, are keen for people to minimise waste by bringing any unwanted electrical or kitchen items, from dvd players and music systems through to kettles and clocks to the Eco Zone.

UK & European Festival Awards 2010

Before we tell you about how ecstatic we are following our best wins ever at the UK Festival Awards, we wanted to give you a heads up about its European counterpart.

Bestival is super chuffed to be up for a gong in the ‘Best Line-up’ category. It’s always a labour of love for Rob da Bank and his trusty team putting together the beyond eclectic Bestival line-up and with performances this year from big hitters like Dizzee Rascal, Hot Chip, Roxy Music, The Flaming Lips, The Prodigy, Mumford & Sons, The xx, Tricky and LCD Soundsystem all the way down to  the bright new hopes like The Boy Who Trapped The Sun, Erland & The Carnival, King Charles and Unicorn Kid, not to mention all the other wild and wonderful treats that make our Robin Hill shindig so ear-pleasingly good, it’s a huge honour to make it onto the Best Line-up shortlist.  Voting is now open so we’d love it if you could make your way to and register to vote. Any and all support is hugely appreciated!
