ROB DA BANK’S MUSIC CLUB
We’re very pleased to announce that one of Camp Bestival’s most exclusive areas, The Den, is returning by popular demand to Lulworth Castle for its third year. Dedicated to 13-17 year-olds, The Den is a secret festival within a festival, featuring an alluring array of live music, DJs, workshops, talks and activities. And it’s the epitome of the teenage dream; no adults allowed!
Rob da Bank says: “The Den is one of the best bits of Camp Bestival and I would spend all my time there but I’m not allowed in… From ace music and DJs like Kiko Bun, Dawson and Katy Wilson to all the amazing things you can have a go at like looping masterclasses, Lizzie King Tie Dye Mayhem and my music club, it’s the ultimate teenage escape!”
There will be live reggae music from iTunes Chart topper Kiko Bun, plus inspiring How To! sessions from Teen Do in an exclusive collaboration with the teenage brainchild of the awesome Do Lectures. DIY festival fashion and craft workshops with East London creative crew Use It Up Wear It Out, chromatic joy with Lizzie King Tie Dye Mayhem, and hoola hooping games and party tricks on the dancefloor with the amazing Marawa’s Majorettes, who will be accompanied on the wheels of steel by the incredible 16-year-old DJ, Katy Wilson.
Loop pedal champion Dawson will be showcasing his mesmerising skills, and there will be an incredible Loop Pedal Masterclass from him too. We have spoken word from performer of the moment and BBC Radio 1Xtra favourite Joe Beaumont-Howell. Author of the incredibly popular teen fiction series Geek Girl, Holly Smale will run a Creative Writing Masterclass, and Inspo Corner will give you the lowdown from Britain’s youngest head chef Luke Thomas.
Floor-filling DJ action will come courtesy of Collective 23, and we’ll have a special UK festival exclusive from Emily Barr with her sensational young adult fiction The One Memory of Flora Banks, with chances to win advanced copies of the book. There will also be sublime poetry from the Roundhouse Poetry Collective, more dancefloor mayhem from DJ Che Mac, brilliant new music from singer-songwriter siblings Max & Harvey Mills, and don’t miss the chance to record your own tracks at the Songshack.
Rob da Bank’s Music Club returns to The Den once again this year, with a series of in depth masterclasses and workshops including hip-hop philosophy, singing lessons, MC workshops, guitar lessons and the chance to make your own music video. As the man himself, Rob da Bank says: “My Music Club is the place to be at Camp Bestival if you’re between 13 and 17 years old and want to get into music, or just hang out and be inspired – it’s that simple. Be there!”
