Henley Business School, world leaders in business management and leadership education are to launch a new Henley MBA for the Music Industry – Sep 2012
Henley Business School are to deliver a new Henley MBA for the Music Industry, combining the breadth of general management areas covered by its existing triple accredited MBA, with a more specific orientation towards the music business & IP management. The initiative is backed by a steering committee of international industry luminaries, the course will be created as an essential, recognised qualification for dynamic business managers and future business leaders.

Simon Napier Bell – Known as the man behind Dusty Springfield’s hit ‘You don’t have to say you love me’ and Wham! author Simon Napier –Bell has a long musical history as both a song- writer and music manager associated with Marc Bolan, The Yardbirds and Jimmy Page.

Carl Leighton – Pope , founder of The Performing Artists Network Agency with a management and touring career spanning over 30 years, Carl has worked with some heavyweight stadium acts such as Simple Minds, Dire Straits, REO Speedwagon, Bryan Adams, Van Morrison and most recently Michael Buble. Carl still works with most of his artists and recently took on the role of consultant to The Harlem Globetrotters and WWE for all of their performances outside North America.

The Team at Henley is headed by Professor John Board, Dean of Henley Business School which is part of the University of Reading, Dr Richard McBain Director of Post-experience Postgraduate Programmes, Dr Peter Michael Miskell, Faculty Director of Learning and Teaching and Helen Gammons MBA, Programme Director. The Henley MBA for the Music Industry is designed around the core Henley MBA modules which are applied directly to the participant’s business (either their own or their employers, and can be any music or music content based business), which are known to affect that business with immediate and measurable results. Specially tailored electives for the music industry have been incorporated into the core modules to enhance learning and have been created to involve industry and focus on relevant issues. It is an exciting and enriching program with real world application throughout.
