Scottish & Southern Energy
SSE plugged in eco-house
Promote Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) standing as the longest serving supplier of renewable energy in the UK in a credible manner that is rooted in music. The activity needed to shift brand perceptions, appeal to new markets for SSE products and Services and generate PR value for the brand.
GI created the ‘plugged in eco-house’ that successfully showcased SSE’s green energy credentials and act as a platform to engage with both consumers and press.
We created a capsule living space using recycled materials and the latest renewable technologies. Taking power from hydrogen cells and solar panels the eco house demonstrated how consumers can be energy efficient in the home. We created ‘people powered parties’ featuring a pedal powered sound system and a kinetic eco dance floor as PR initiatives in order to amplify the brand experience to the target audience.
The key objective behind creating the plugged in eco-house was to build PR value for the brand and it’s products and services through traditional press channels as well as online and social media coverage.
The plugged in eco-house received extensive high-profile coverage including:
T4 / ITV Meridian New / The Times / Grazia / Marketing / Heat
Additionally the project received huge support and coverage from regional press, including the IoW County Press, IoW Gazette, Southern Daily Echo and Bournemouth Echo,
Total media valuation: 8 Million opportunities to view and a resulting PR value of £650,000
The pluggedinlive facebook page has established a community of over 1500 friends, with 14,800 page views and 41,000 photo views.
